Anita Briem is an Icelandic actor from Iceland . Known for her portrayal as Jane Seymour , the young woman who is destined to be the third wife of King Henry VIII in the series of television The Tudors and for her character as Hannah in the movie Journey to the Center of the Earth ( 2008 ) . Briem started her acting career acting as an actress in the National Theater Iceland at 9 years old. As a child actress, she participated in various plays television programs and radio programs in her home country of Iceland. At 16 Briem relocated to London to take part in an event for the theatre of the production Lenin in Love in the New End Theater. Briem was 19, and was admitted to the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London. The academy was home to her over three years. Briem earned her degree in Drama, and was awarded the John Barton Prize under the Scenic Fight category. As a student at RADA the actor was involved in a large number of shows, which included The Cherry Garden by Anton Chekhov and Bernarda Alba's house by Federico Garcia Lorca . After graduation, Briem continued to work in the London theater participating in works including Catalog of Misunderstanding directed by Mike Figgisat the National Theater Studio as well as the successful, five-month run at the West End of Losing Louis .
